Hi Bro With GPS you get what you pay for the more you want them to do the more you have to pay but have a good look around because theyre getting cheaper all the time with more functions. I own the model your ute was based on an Isuzu D-MAX and if the holden "copy" is anywhere as good as mine is you wont have any regrets. Great to tow with dont know the camper trailer is even on. Mine is an auto as well. Have just got back from a trip to Victoria and the ute went really well great fuel economy comfortable to ride in and even went 4x4 driving with a new "modified" hilux and I went through places he had trouble in so I am quite impressed with my choice, hope you as pleased with yours

Yep...Petengail, you are quite correct re...The actual camping area I was referring to is Inskip....The reason I did that was so,,,,not to confuse Gezz as she particuly asked for non 'camping grounds',,,,which is all thats available @ Rainbow Beach,Easy to work out when you get there though.
I never realized that the trip to Fraser was free...if you are traveling as a ''walk-on' passenger...must try that next time.
How do you get on 'towing' a van up that way ???...We have found the sand can get quite soft...and you didn't mention wether your fishing trips have been successful...(thats if you fish...lol)
We will be hoping to get up that way again soon but the hours I am getting at work at present are preventing us getting away....who wants my job ??

Cant tell you the name of the stuff you actually saw but we bought some matting at Anaconda a couple of years ago that sounds similar. Came in 3 different sizes, was hemmed all around with eyelets for pegs to keep it in place. Have used it in torrential downpours, admittedly under cover, but the ground has been soaked and all the rubbish stays underneath and dry on top. Not overly expensive either really.
