Well ,,,Avis & I finally settled on a caravan....a 23ft Windsor Statesman Royale....a bit bigger than the 18...19 footer I intended to buy but got (bullied) talked into this one......We are heading off for our first trip in about 4 weeks for a month up north.....1st week will be wandering up to Airlie Beach where we have booked in for 2 weeks....then wandering back over the last week.......Gotta admit.....I'm looking forwards to a break myself this year......Cheers

Any of you experienced ''Caravan Owners'' out there got any ''tips'' for what to look for when buying a Caravan?????

Rod,,,Avis & I are currently looking for a caravan as well....We have done a ''360''on our original plans of going around Aussie in our Motorhome (30ft Bedford)...S,,,We are now selling our bus,,pop top campervan and 1 of our tents (we have places here where it would be unwise to take a caravan....like up the beach where we enjoy fishing...so...we willkeep a tent for there)....
My sister & bro-in-law live in Perth and just love getting away in their caravan,,,,(think their new one is a 24ft jaceo...and like us,,,they enjoy ''Freedom Camping''....Your trip with the singer sounds great...cheers....Rosco

Hi everyone,

Thought i would join this group as my wife Sandy and I (Rod) enjoy caravaning. We live in Mandurah WA and we often head off south to the wineries for a few tastings and purchases, then we enjoy our purchases where we are staying with our barbie. Quite often other people come over and cook thier meals with us and sit down and enjoy a few drinks and discuss what they have been upto for the day. Sometimes these nights turn into late ones, like the time we went to Quinninup eco park a gentleman came over with his guitar and started singing and boy could he sing. Everything from Slim Dusty to AC/DC, this man had a brilliant talent we sat up till 2am around a campfire with the owners of the park listerning to this man. In total there must have been 60 or more people there that night, it was excellent.
